This placed Jack Fardell as Australian Pro Champion and Adam Luxford as Australian Masters Champion for 2013.
The contest was a truly historic moment for skateboarding, when Lizzie Armanto (USA) became the first female competitor to qualify for a PRO open division final.
The all-inclusive contest welcomes skateboarders of all skill-levels, ages and sex to compete for the total prize pool of $25,000AUD and the chance to win entry to one of the largest professional concrete series in the World; Vans BOWL-A-RAMA Bondi.
ABC has four divisions, including the Under 18s, PRO/AM, Masters (over 40’s) and Female opens divisions.
“Our goal with ABC has always been to establish an annual gathering where the riders and fans can use it as they see fit. Some use it as a way to build their careers through competition experience, others see it as a social gathering and some just want to fan out and support their favourite riders. To us it is all of the above and more.
The fantastic support of Destination NSW and Newcastle City Council has meant that we can continue to foster the amazing talent in the Australian skateboard scene and put on the best show in town for all the fans. Previous champions such as Jack Fardell and Keegan Palmer have gone on to bigger things globally, we can’t wait to see who gets launched onto the world stage this year.” ABC Director – Chad Ford.
